It all started when…

Mike Curtis is best known for his time spent working on American Hotrod with Boyd Coddington and Overhaulin’ with Chip Foose, here is a small part of Mike’s history in the world of Hotrod’s.

Mike got started at the age 12 working for his father, Randy Curtis at Goodding Performance and Ultimate Coatings in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Mike’s focus in High School was directed at preparing himself for building hotrods. He did this by taking every welding, cad and mechanical drafting class and some off-campus courses including manual machining and an introduction to CNC machining.

While vacationing in California, Mike visited Hotrod by Boyd and was convinced that he needed to work for Boyd and by spring break of his senior year in high school, he was offered a job. Mike moved to California and started his career working for Boyd Coddington running the CNC machines for eight years which included four seasons of American Hotrod.

In 2005, Mike started working for MHT Wheels running the machine shop as well as making wheels for Overhaulin’.

In 2006, Mike started Curtis Speed Equipment, designing and building custom one-off wheels with EVOD Industries. While owning his own business, he to work as a full-time builder on Overhaulin’ and continued working on projects with Chip Foose.

Towards the end of 2007, Mike expanded Curtis Speed Equipment and its facility to Orange, California where he continues to showcase his talent ever day by designing and manufacturing one-off wheels and accessories, along with an amazing line of production wheels for the hotrod enthusiast, concept car builders and the everyday car owner, both nationally and internationally

2016 proved to be very productive year for Mike in the world of NHRA. He built the wheels for the Paton Racing Dragster and the Scott Palmer Dragster.

Mike has joined the Paton Race Dragster Team as an intracule part of the 2017 NHRA Season.

Mike’s motto is, “Our clients set their goals as high as we do. The results speak for themselves”. Let the billet fly!
